Our mission

Building a shared digital environment for better decisions

Digital Twin Slovenia connects Earth Observation, geospatial data, models and digital services in a common environment that helps users understand change, explore scenarios and make better-informed decisions.
Our goal is to make complex spatial information easier to access, combine and use — from environmental monitoring and natural hazards to spatial planning and public decision-making.
What we aim to achieve

Turning data into actionable insight

DTSI connects information that is often distributed across different systems and organisations and turns it into a common foundation for analysis, simulation and decision support.

Connect

Bring data and services together
Connect Earth Observation, national geospatial datasets, measurements and modelling services in an interoperable digital environment.

Understand

Transform observations into knowledge
Use Digital Twin models and time-series analysis to monitor change, reconstruct past events and explore possible future scenarios.

Support decisions

Make complex information easier to use
Provide accessible maps, 3D visualisations, simulations and decision-ready information for planning, risk assessment and operational workflows.
Why it matters

From monitoring to scenario-based decision-making

Environmental challenges rarely depend on a single dataset. Flooding, landslides, changing water conditions and extreme weather require information from many different sources. DTSI brings these sources together so users can move from individual observations towards a more complete understanding of the situation.
Better context for better decisions
By combining observations, models and scenario analysis, stakeholders can compare possible developments, assess impacts and identify where additional action or information may be needed.
Tested in practice

A Digital Twin built around real-world use cases

DTSI is demonstrated through practical applications across Slovenia, helping test how Digital Twin technologies can support operational and policy needs.
